Memories of Stanmore - Neil Fisher

Here is a photo of my own that I found from my days in Stanmore Infants. I think this would have been in 1966. The concrete horse was in the infants playground then.

The names that I can remember are as follows: Back left to right; unknown, Greg Smith (I think), John Ashurst (his father Jake Ashurst was the Headmaster of Peter Symonds Grammar School in those days - a character, who also taught me Latin for two years), Wayne Curzon, Jeremy Vale, Brian Bowers. Front row left to right; Diane Gibson, Louise Tatton (I think), Julie Colenutt, Neil Fisher, Alison Merwood.

I can remember a few teachers; I think I started in Mrs Cavell's class and was also in Miss Swift and Miss Percival's class too in the infants. In the Juniors, I was in Mrs Blake's class, Mrs EG Green and Miss J Green and then Mr Hartnell. I can also remember Mrs Brown too as she taught us some very basic French before we left for secondary school. I can also remember being in the school play too, which was called The Pig in the Palace. I played the King.
