Memories of Stanmore - Matthew Waldin

My name is Matthew Waldin (1967), son of David John Waldin (and Merle, neé Cook) who taught at Stanmore (I was at Stanmore School from 1975-1977 and was born at 38 Stanmore Lane no less).

My elder sister Patience (1965) also went to Stanmore. In the photo [of Nigel Sacree’s memories] person No. 42 could not have been my father as he was in Africa fighting Rommel (Dad was born 22 April 1922). He was one of four kids. His elder brother Peter was in Canada. The person in the photo–if a Waldin–could have been my dad's sister Jean or more probably as 42 is a boy it was the youngest sibling, Howard Waldin (who lived in Twyford and became an architect). Hope this helps.

Matthew (Monty) Waldin
